More on the last post...

Here is what I was trying to say the other day! This is the point of Amy Chua's book. This is what I want Ady to grow up understanding: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10150667698280465&set=a.86170940464.107304.729700464&type=1

  1. I totally love and agree with that saying, but I don't think that necessarily means we can't let our kids have any type of say in their lives. Yes, they need direction, guidance , and a firm hand sometimes but who are we to basically tell someone else how to live their life? I can't imagine how different my life would be if my parents raised me that way. I'm pretty different than my parents and am free spirited and I see no harm in that. I think there can be a true balance between the two. This is a very interesting and new subject to me. I should read Amy's story!

  2. I totally agree with you. And that is one thing that Amy learns. She pushed her daughters to do what she thought they would be good at. At the end of the book she discovers her youngest daughter is good at something else. She regretted not letting her spending time on that learning that skill. I do think that balance is important.
