Summer is Winding Down

We are in our last week of summer. In five days Ady turns 7 years old. She has grown an inch and a half this summer. Summer is my favorite time of the year and I am always a little sad when I realize fall is just around the corner. It does make it better knowing I don't have to say goodbye to Ady when she returns to school all day. We are beginning second grade on the Tuesday after Labor Day. Most of Ady's friends have returned to school already. Today is the first day of school in our local district. While Ady did school work all summer we did not stick to a schedule and we did not work all day every day. But we did do some work to keep her mind thinking about what she had learned in first grade and to keep her moving to second grade material. This morning she is working most of the morning, but this afternoon we are heading to the bowling alley for some fun! I look forward to school starting next week, but we are going to enjoy summer for as long as we can! Here are some of the wonderful activities we enjoyed this summer! We...

went to Wildwood, NJ

enjoyed some festivals

attended baseball games

went swimming (lots!)

played golf

visited the American Girl store Tysons Corner, Virginia

had fun on the Fourth of July

visited Independence Hall in Philadelphia, PA

saw the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia, PA

rode a camel

and had a visit from the cousins!
